GET READY TO EXPLORE MOROCCO AS WE VENTURE OVER TO AFRICA FOR THREE DAYS AND TWO NIGHTS!

THIS IS AN EXCLUSIVE AXARQUIA SOCIAL CLUB MEMBERS-ONLY MINI BREAK!

THIS MINI BREAK IS ORGANISED IN CONJUNCTION WITH C.I.A.N 2977991-3

DAY 1

Transfer by minibus to Algeciras port.

High-speed boat to Ceuta, a Spanish city in North Africa, one of the mythical pillars of Hercules in the Strait of Gibraltar, and where four cultures coexist in harmony: Christians, Muslims, Hebrews and Hindus.

The city is located on a small peninsula and has a wonderful climate and a strong commercial character.

Upon arrival, a guided tour beginning with a coach tour to see the monumental complex of the Royal Walls, the San Felipe Moat, the Plaza de África, and Monte Hacho, from where you can see wonderful views over the city and the Strait of Gibraltar at the Mirador de San Antonio.

After the visit, lunch and border procedures with the Kingdom of Morocco and continuation to Tetouan, also known as “La Paloma Blanca”.

Visit the capital of the Spanish “protectorate” until 1956 and the most Andalusian city in Morocco, walking through the medina and some of its most characteristic souks and markets, with time for shopping.

Through the Jewish Quarter, we will reach Plaza Hassan II, where the Royal Palace is located.
Crossing boulevards and cafes that date back to the protectorate era, we will pick up our coach at Moulay El Mehdi Square.

Transfer to our hotel for dinner and accommodation.

DAY 2

Breakfast and then out for the day with our first trip to Asilah, a picturesque fishing village fortified by the Portuguese where we will make a brief visit and have lunch.

In the afternoon we continue to Tangier, an ancient city dominated by various peoples throughout its history, and declared an international city for much of the middle of the 20th century.

Today it is the economic-administrative capital of the northern region of Morocco and an important and cosmopolitan business center: we will begin the visit in Cape Spartel, with spectacular views over the Strait of Gibraltar.

Free time to ride camels or visit the caves of Hercules (not included, optional payment at destination).

Next, we will take a panoramic view of the modern city by coach: Pasteur Boulevard, Plaza de Francia and the diplomatic quarters.

After the visit, return to Tetouán. Transfer to our hotel for dinner and accommodation.

DAY 3

Breakfast and continuation of the trip to Chauen, located in a valley in the Rif mountain range.

Its name, which in the Riffian dialect means “horns”, refers to the two mountain peaks visible from the city, founded in 1471 by Muslims and Jews exiled from Al-Andalus.

These imitated the narrow and irregular layout of the Andalusian towns and whitewashed their houses in blue tones, a custom their current inhabitants preserve.

Guided walking tour of the medina followed by free time for shopping and a typical Moroccan lunch.

At the time indicated by the guide, transfer back to Ceuta.

Boarding back to Algeciras and then minibus back home.

OTHER INFORMATION

MONEY

You can spend euros in all the destinations we are going to, but I recommend spending a little bit of money just to pay for your drinks (10/20€).

Tetouan and Chauen will not be able to give you change in euros. We will be able to change some money in Tetouan.

Please arrange to have some small notes and euro coins ready to make your purchases from the street vendors when in Tangier if you are looking to purchase items.

It is a lot easier if you have the correct money ready when you haggle with them.

If you wish to purchase an item from a street vendor, you can haggle, and start low.

You will be surprised at how much you can get items for…

CLOTHING

Everywhere we go is a tourist location and you can wear clothing of your choice.

I do recommend that you wear comfortable shoes for when we have our guided tours.
